Georgia football continues to make waves in the 2026 recruiting class as the Bulldogs are once again targeting some of the top players in the country. This is especially true on offense as Georgia is after one of the best players in the country, who just so happens to have a long history with Georgia already.

Now is the time when recruits typically start announcing who their top schools are, and Georgia received some great news on that front on Wednesday with one of the top ranked quarterback in the 2026 class.

5-star QB Jared Curtis

Jared Curtis is a five-star quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 4 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in his class as well as the top ranked player from his home state of Tennessee.

Curtis likely is a name that most Georgia fans recognize because he was previously committed to Georgia throughout most of 2024. He originally announced his commitment to Georgia on Mar. 23 of last year before unfortunately decommitting from the program on Oct. 17. Usually this means the end of Georgia's chances in a recruitment, but that apparently is not the case.

Curtis released his top six schools on Wednesday, and according to Hayes Fawcett with On3, that includes Georgia. Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, Auburn and Ohio State also made the cut with Georgia as well. This top six also came just days after Georgia visited with Curtis as well, which was yet another sign that Georgia was still in the running to win this recruitment.

This will be an interesting recruitment to follow this summer as Georgia clearly has as good of a chance as anyone to win this battle. Kirby Smart has convinced players in the past to commit to the program again, and hopefully that is exactly what happens with Curtis.
