There is one name that keeps popping up on the recruiting trail as a serious target for Georgia football, and that is Jireh Edwards. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Edwards is the No. 48 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 5 safety in the 2026 class and the No. 3 player from his home state of Maryland.

Back in February, Edwards announced five official visits for later this summer, and that gave off the impression that those were his top five schools. Georgia was one of those schools to earn a visit as they will host Edwards the weekend of June 6. Edwards will also take official visits to Auburn, Maryland, Texas A&M and Oregon as well.

This however isn't the only visit on the docket for Edwards as Matt DeBary with Dawg Post reported that he will be making another visit to Athens next weekend on April 12.

Jireh Edwards seems high on Georgia

This upcoming visit for Edwards is not the first time he will be coming to Athens either as he visited campus earlier this year already. Being that he is a recruit from Maryland, it is a great sign to see him coming all the way down to Athens this often.

Edwards recently spoke with DeBary at Dawg Post, and he shared a quick update about what he learned on his visits to Georgia and what he likes about them.

“I learned more about player development and a deeper meaning of the game”, Edwards shared via dawgpost.com. “They were keeping it real and let me know I’m a special talent and I’m definitely a guy they want to see in that Red and black.”

It is unlikely for Edwards to announce a commitment anytime soon, but Georgia has to love their chances as they are one of the schools that he has been visiting the most.
