Georgia football's 2025 National Championship odds are confusing

The college football season has one game remaining as the Ohio State Buckeyes will battle Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship game later this week. While everyone will be tuning into that game, everyone other than these two programs have turned their attention to next season.

Georgia football is already off and running in their preparations for next season as they have become one of the hottest teams on the recruiting trail in the transfer portal. They have added multiple playmakers on the defensive side of the ball as well as multiple players on offense who will likely be starters, which includes USC transfer wide receiver Zachariah Branch.

With all of these great additions from the portal and the fact that Georgia is returning many elite players as well, one would assume that Kirby Smart and UGA will be one of the favorites to win the National Championship next season. And that is the case as FanDuel Sportsbook just released their opening odds for next season's National Championship winner.

Georgia football is one of the favorites to win it all next season

Accoridng to FanDuel Sportsbook, Georgia's National Championship odds for next season are set at +650. These are the second best odds in the country along with Texas and Oregon. Ohio State is the team with the best odds at +450.

While it is exciting that Georgia has this good of odds, it is a little confusing. The main reason being that Georgia will be breaking in a new quarterback after Carson Beck announced his decision to transfer to Miami. Typically a first time starting QB is not a recipe for success when it comes to winning a National Championship, so that is a little scary for Georiga.

The Bulldogs however have made a lot of improvements to their roster this offseason, specifically at wide receiver. But there is still a lot of work to do with the biggest question mark coming at offensive line. Georgia is going to have a brand new offensive line next season which is another not so great sign for their chances to win a national title.

But at the end of the day, Smart has shown that he is an elite coach no matter what. So Georgia likely will be there at the end of the season with a chance to play for and win a National Championship.
