Georgia football has been aggressively recruiting many wide receivers out of the transfer portal since the portal opened last month. And while Kirby Smart and his staff did not find much luck initially, they finally earned a commitment from the No. 2 receiver in the portal from USC in Zachariah Branch.

While this put Georgia's receiver room in a much better spot heading into next season, the Bulldogs still need a lot more help as wide receiver was arguably the worst position group for Georgia this past season. The Bulldogs are bringing in many elite receivers to Athens as part of their 2025 recruiting class, but it's hard to ever rely on true freshman making a big impact in their first season at the college level.

So that is why Smart has still been targeting receivers in the portal even after Branch committed to Georgia, and it appears those efforts are close to being rewarded.

Texas A&M transfer WR Noah Thomas

Noah Thomas is a transfer wide receiver from Texas A&M. Thomas is one of the top players in the portal as 247Sports has him as the No. 31 overall player in the portal and the No. 10 wide receiver. And it's easy to see why after he recorded 39 receptions for 574 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2024 season.

Thomas has only shown interest in Georgia so far since entering the portal as he took his only visit to Athens over the weekend. And it appears that visit went extremely well as recruiting experts Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong with On3 logged official predictions for Georgia to land Thomas out of the portal.

Obviously this recruitment is not over until Thomas officially commits and signs with Georgia, but all signs point towards that happening in the near future. And if it does, Georgia should feel very confident about their wide receiver room heading into next season.
