The excitment for Georgia football's upcoming matchup with No. 1 Texas continues to grow. We already know this is a showdown between top five teams in the AP Poll, and ESPN has already announced that it will be their weekly edition of College GameDay. Now we have learned that this game will be under the lights in primetime on ABC.

Georgia will travel to Texas on Saturday, Oct. 19 to face the Longhorns at 7:30 pm EST (6:30 pm local time). The game will be televised on ABC as well as ESPN+.

This will be Georgia's third night game of the season with all three coming on the road. The first was against Kentucky, a game that Georgia narrowly won 13-12. The following game at Alabama was another night game which UGA lost in heartbreaking fashion 41-34. The Bulldogs season finale against Georgia Tech will also be a night game, so don't worry Bulldogs fans, we will get our chance to watch UGA play under the lights in Sanford Stadium in due time.

Early Betting Odds

Last week when the sportsbooks released their opening lines Georgia found themseleves as a 2.5 point underdog. That line has since shifted a point since, now favoring Texas by 3.5 points.

This will be the first game that Georgia is an underdog since the 2021 season opener against Clemson, a game the Bulldogs won 10-3.

One thing not in Georgia's favor this season is their ugly record against the spread. The Bulldogs are a shocking 1-5 against the spread with the lone win coming in the season opener against Clemson. So if you are someone who is a believer in stats then you probably don't like Georgia's chances this weekend.

This game cannot get here soon enough. The entire country will have their eyes on this game, and Georgia will look to make a statment on the road against a team that looks unbeatable.

I can't wait.
