Week three of the college football season kicks off SEC competition for the majority of teams within the conference. While the Georgia Bulldogs will hit the road and travel to Arkansas for their matchup against the Razorbacks at noon, there are still several games being played that could have an impact on them in the long run.
While it might not be obvious now, Georgia fans need to keep an eye on these three games when the Bulldogs are on commercial break or already finished in Fayetteville:
1. Mississippi State vs South Carolina
The South Carolina Gamecocks are everyone's wild card team for 2026. They can either be playoff contenders and take down some major blue blood teams this year, or completely blunder and go 4-8. Either way, they have some of the best playmakers in the sport in quarterback LaNorris Sellers and receiver Nyck Harbor.
While they haven't played tough competition yet, that offense has averaged 51 points per game through the first two weeks. Since Georgia plays the Gamecocks in Columbia November 21, fans might want to keep an eye on this Gamecocks offense and see if that impressive offense continues to show out against SEC competition.
2. Florida vs Auburn
Two of Georgia's biggest rivals face off in Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday as the Auburn Tigers play host to the Florida Gators. Georgia legend Aaron Murray said week one that the Florida offense "could be one of the best in the SEC," and so far, they have not done anything to dispel that rumor.
The Gators have averaged 59 points per game so far this season and have one of the best running backs in the league in Jaden Baugh, who already has 296 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the season. On the other side, Auburn did something week one they failed to do repeatedly in 2025, win the close games. Not only that, but they also won it despite their star quarterback Byrum Brown having three interceptions.
If they play a clean game at home against Florida the Tigers could easily make a statement to the rest of the SEC that they are for real in 2026.
3. LSU vs Ole Miss
The whole country will be watching the LSU-Ole Miss game for the Lane Kiffin saga. Kiffin returns to Oxford for the first time since leaving the Rebels in dramatic fashion back in December. While that is the obvious headline for the night, Georgia fans should also see how the Ole Miss offense does against LSU's defense.
The Rebels had an impressive showing on offense, especially in the second half, week one against Louisville. However, they face a much tougher defense in LSU in week three. The Tigers defense can be better compared to Georgia's, so Kirby Smart and company should be able to get good tape on the Rebels after this game.
