One of the most important positions to dominate on the recruiting trail is quarterback. It is by far the most impactful position on the football field and adding an elite QB will also make all of the top recruits from around the country want to play with them.
Georgia football is routinely on top of the recruiting rankings every year, but they typically are not landing the top ranked quarterbacks. That however could change this year as Kirby Smart and his staff are after two of the top QBs in the 2026 class.
And according to Brooks Austin with si.com, the Bulldogs are in a great position with both recruits.
5-star Jared Curtis
Austin believes that things are still extrememly tight between Georgia and Oregon for the No. 1 QB in the country. Jared Curtis has a commitment date set for May 5, and the hope is that the Bulldogs will be able to earn his commitment for the second time.
Austin has heard that Georgia is the No. 1 choice for Curtis's parents, which obviously is a big deal for many recruits. However, Oregon is not going down without a fight as Curtis has grown very close with the Ducks Offensive Coordinator.
This recruitment still feels too close to call, so with one month until Curtis's commitment anything is still possible.
4-star Bowe Bentley
Bowe Bentley is the far and away second option at quarterback for Georgia in the 2026 class if things don't work out with Curtis. Bentley recently trimmed his list down to three schools, which includes Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma.
Bentley also has official visits scheduled with these three schools, with two of them occurring after Curtis's commitment. So if things don't work out for Georgia with Curtis, Smart and his staff will likely go all in on Bentley, who is a top five quarterback in the country according to On3.
