The injury bug has been biting Georgia hard the last few weeks, but at this point in the season it is impacting everyone. Georgia however has been getting their fair share of good news heading into the Ole Miss game on Saturday.

Georgia learned on Thursday that wide receiver Isiah Canion will be making his return for the first time since Week 2, but star running back Chauncey Bowens could be back as well.

Georgia RB Chauncey Bowens injury update

Chauncey Bowens got hurt during the first half against Vanderbilt over a month ago. After that injury there were some who thought his injury could be season-ending, so as the weeks went by no one was shocked to see him ruled out for every game.

Heading into the Florida game last week he was originally marked questionable to play early in the week. He was eventually ruled out a couple days before that game, but this was the first sign that he might be getting close to returning to action. Fast forward to Friday night and Bowens was upgraded to probable to play against Ole Miss.

So far this season Bowens has only recorded 35 carries for 124 yards. He however has found the end zone six times this season, so he found his role as Georgia's punishing short yardage back before he got injured. Now he has a chance to make his return against Ole Miss.

Georgia will likely need to score a lot of points if they're going to beat Ole Miss, so it would be perfect timing to get a player back from injury who has scored six touchdowns on just 35 touches this season.

Georgia football is expected to get WR Isiah Canion back as well

As mentioned, Georgia wide receiver Isiah Canion is expected to make his return against Ole Miss this weekend. Canion was injured during the Bulldogs' second game of the season this year, but it looks like he will step back on the field this weekend at Ole Miss.

Canion only has three receptions this season, but fans need to remember how big of an acquisition he was out of the Transfer Portal this year. Last year at Georgia Tech he nearly recorded 500 receiving yards on 33 catches, so he has big play ability that UGA desperately needs.

Georgia has plenty of depth at wide receiver that they've been able to use to play without him, but they are a much better offense with him in the lineup. Now Gunner Stockton will have another weapon in the offense he can utilize, and that could help Georgia put up more points this weekend in a game that is expected to be high scoring.

Georgia and Ole Miss are scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 pm EST on Saturday, Nov. 7.
