One of Georgia’s top targets in the 2027 recruiting class is five-star quarterback Elijah Haven. Georgia appears to be firmly in the mix for him as he will visit Athens this weekend for UGA’s matchup against Texas, but it’s clear they have a lot of ground to makeup in his recruitment.
Haven has a lot of the top programs in the country pursuing him, and one of those schools just so happens to be Alabama. The Crimson Tide have unfortunately been the team trending in his recruitment for some time now, and that remained the case after his visit to Alabama this past weekend.

5-star Elijah Haven continues to favor Alabama over Georgia
It is still very early in Haven’s recruitment, so Georgia still has plenty of time to grow their relationship with him and his family. But all signs are unfortunately pointing to Georgia falling behind in his recruitment.
The above comments after his visit to Alabama continue to show how well they are recruiting him. But combining that with what Haven’s father previously said about Georgia shows just how much work there is for UGA to become a serious threat in his recruitment. But Georgia has a chance to change the narrative in his recruitment this weekend when Haven comes to Athens.
Haven has visited Georgia one time as he previously camped in Athens, but that is nowhere near the level of importance that a traditional visit gives him. So this weekend will be his first true visit to Georgia where he will finally start to learn if UGA is the right place for him or not.
Georgia will likely find out after this weekend how much of a chance they have with Haven, but UGA fans shouldn’t enter this visit with high hopes. But at the end of the day that is okay, Georgia’s quarterback room is extremely healthy with Jared Curtis coming to town next year. Georgia is also trending very well with the No. 1 QB in the 2028 class as well.
So while Haven would be a massive addition to the program, this thankfully isn’t a recruitment Georgia has to win.
