Georgia football being in the middle of their second bye week of the season means that fans can focus on recruiting for a week before diving back into the season. Unfortunately the biggest story surrounding Georgia on the recruiting trail right now is five-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis taking a visit to Vanderbilt this weekend.
Georgia fans have been assured by Curtis's agent that he will be a Bulldog, but it is still concerning seeing him visit another school.
So while the college football world has their eyes on that visit, Kirby Smart has found a new five-star quarterback to target.

Georgia offer No. 2 QB in the 2028 class
Five-star quarterback Christopher Vargas announced on Oct. 18 that Georgia had officially offered him a scholarship. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Vargas is the No. 9 overall player in the country and the No. 2 QB in the 2028 recruiting class. He also is the top ranked player from his home state of Massachusettes as well.
Vargas is two years younger than Curtis, so their recruitments have no impact on each other. However, this offer does impact Georgia's recruitment of their top quarterback target in the 2028 class.
The No. 1 QB in the 2028 class is Jayden Wade. Wde has plenty of suitors pursuing him, but he recently shared that Georgia is his No. 1 school right now. Georgia however doesn't appear to feel 100 percent certain that Wade will commit to UGA in the future, so that is why they offered Vargas.
Vargas and Wade's recruitment have two years to go still, so they aren't the main focus right now. Smart and his staff will give all of their attention to Curtis as he can officially sign with Georgia in a little over a month. And the feeling is that if UGA can survive his visit to Vanderbilt this weekend that they will end up winning this recruitment.
