The. best Georgia teams under Kirby Smart have always been led by their defense. Their offense could play terrible and UGA would still find a way to win nearly every game because their defense was able to shut their opposition down.

But the exact opposite was taking place for much of this season as it was Georgia's offense that was dominating their opponents and picking up the slack for their defense.

Fast forward to today and Georgia's defense has thankfully found their rhythem as they have been playing extremely well for most of November. That is why Georgia quickly turned into a National Championship contender because a great defense was the only thing missing for them all season. But Friday night's win against Georgia Tech showed that UGA may no longer be able to rely on their offense to win them games this season.

Georgia's offense isn't as trustworthy as they once were

Georgia Tech is a very good team, no one can deny that, but 16 points against them isn't good enough. In fact, many Georgia fans might have felt before the game that 16 points wouldn't have been enough to win this game. But thankfully it was because Georgia's defense was a dominant force all night long.

While it is nice that Georgia can now rely on their defense to win them games, it's a little scary that they may not be able to rely on their offense anymore. Gunner Stockton had one of the worst games of his career, and that arguably was the biggest reason why they struggled so much.

The good news is that this is the first "bad" performance from Georgia's offense this season, and even if they left a lot to be desired there were still a lot of positive takeaways. But one thing is certain, Georgia can no longer rely on their offense to win them a game by themselves anymore.
