Georgia's biggest need from the Transfer Portal is wide receiver. The Bulldogs lost four receivers to the NFL Draft after their season came to an end, and while Georgia has plenty of young talent eager to fill in they can't do it all by themselves.
Thankfully Kirby Smart and his staff have been targeting a few wide receivers in the portal already, and they just earned their first receiver commitment from former Georgia Tech wide receiver Isiah Canion on Thursday.

Georgia adds elite WR from in-state rival
Canion was one of the first wide receivers that Georgia targeted in the portal. They hosted him on a visit almost immediately after he entered the portal, and soon after that visit he was predicted to commit to Georgia. Predictions however don't come true every time, but thankfully for Georgia it did this time.
Canion had a solid season with the Yellow Jackets this past year as he tallied 33 receptions, 480 yards and four touchdowns. He will now come to Georgia where there is ample playing time available for him to earn and immediately make an impact on the field.
As mentioned, Georgia lost four of their top receivers to the NFL Draft as Zachariah Branch, Dillon Bell, Noah Thomas and Colbie Young all announced they are leaving the program. While it is nice to see them pursue their dreams at the next level, it is very concerning for Georgia heading into next season. Adding Canion however releaves some of that stress.
Georgia will still need to add at least one more receiver out of the Transfer Portal, and that player very well could be Vanderbilt transfer Tre Richardson. The Bulldogs still have some work to do to win that recruitment though, but for now they can celebrate stealing a very good receiver from their in-state rival.
