Georgia football is in desperate need of adding another defensive lineman to their 2026 recruiting class. Thankfully they have a few options out there that Kirby Smart and his staff are highly motivated to land.

One of those defensive lineman is Anthony Lonon, who according to On3 is now heavily leaning towards committing to Georgia.

On3 names Georgia the heavy favorite for 4-star DL

According to the Rival Industry rankings, Lonon is the No. 261 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 28 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 30 player from the state of Georgia.

Lonon's top four schools are Georgia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and NC State, but On3 updated their recruiting prediction on Thursday that now gives UGA a 94.8 percent chance to win this recruitment.

Monday marked a significant day for Lonon's recruitment as he skyrocketed up the Rivals recruiting rankings. Before Rivals released their update, Lonon was not even ranked. That however changed in a big way as he moved all the way up to No. 261 in the country.

Lonon has not announced a commitment date quite yet, but this update from On3 gives Georgia fans a reason to be extremely hopeful they will win his recruitment. On top of that, Lonon is a legacy recruit for Georgia and was recently spotted wearing Georgia gloves during a workout. So putting all of these factors together makes it feel like as close to a guarantee as possible that UGA will win this recruitment.

Obviously things can change from now until he announces his commitment, but Georgia is in as good of a spot as they can be at this point in his recruitment. And that is a great sign for Georgia because two days ago a defensive lineman committed to Georgia flipped to Texas, so Lonon could be the perfect replacement to help fill that void.
