Every Georgia fan likely remembers how much hate offensive coordinator Mike Bobo received last season. Most UGA fans probably contributed to it at some capacity as well.
But Bobo has quickly shut everyone up and proven that he not only is a good coach, but one that Georgia can’t afford to lose.
Mike Bobo has proven that Georgia can’t live without him
There are two big reasons why Bobo has proven everyone wrong and why he is someone Georgia needs on their coaching staff. The first one is obvious because Bobo has Georgia’s offense playing at an extremely high level.
Georgia’s best teams under Kirby Smart have all been led by a dominant defense. And while UGA’s defense may be turning a corner, it has been their offense that has been leading them to victory this year. And that has especially been the case recently as the Bulldogs put up 35 points against a good Texas team during their blowout victory this past weekend.
Bobo has also helped turn Gunner Stockton into a legit Heisman Trophy candidate which no one saw coming at the start of the year.
Not only is Bobo leading Georgia’s offense to a lot of success every Saturday, but he is dominating on the recruiting trail as well. Bobo is bringing in the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class next year in Jared Curtis, but on Monday he earned a commitment from the No. 1 QB in the 2028 class in Jayden Wade.
So the future of Georgia’s offense is very secure because the Bulldogs will go from Srockton to Curtis to Wade throughout the rest of the decade. No team in the country will be able to compete with that, and it’s all thanks to Bobo.
The good news for Georgia is that Bobo might be content staying at UGA for a very long time. He hasn’t shown any indication of wanting to be a head coach again, so if that’s the case then Georgia fans should have a ton of confidence in their offense for the foreseeable future.
