18 years is too long! After coming up just shy of making it out of the Super Regional two years ago vs. North Carolina State, Wes Johnson's Georgia Bulldogs were not going to be denied this time around. After winning an total slugfest over the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, why not do it again? Georgia blew a massive lead to trail Mississippi State 9-8 late. Then, the magic happened at Foley...

Tied at nine apiece, Daniel Jackson lifted Georgia with his two-run blast deep over the left field wall.

At the bottom of the frame, Justin Byrd was the one to slam the door on Mississippi State to clinch it!

Georgia just became the fourth team to punch its ticket to Omaha, joining the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Troy Trojans, and the Ole Miss Rebels, who all clinched on Saturday. This will be Georgia's seventh trip to the College World Series, but its first since 2008. Georgia is coming off its first SEC conference tournament championship to date, and its 11th SEC regular-season title all time.

Naturally, college baseball media was not ready for this 11-9 series-clinching victory by the Bulldogs.

The Georgia Bulldogs are heading to Omaha for the first time since 2008

With UCLA and Georgia Tech losing their regionals, Georgia is now the highest seed going to Omaha.

With the way this offense rakes, Johnson's Dawgs are going to be so hard to beat in a best-of-three.

Whoever Georgia ends up facing on its side of the bracket is not going to be thrilled to play them...

With Georgia being the fourth team heading to Omaha, who all could they be playing here in a bit?

Georgia Bulldogs await their side of the bracket in College World Series

With No. 16 West Virginia, Troy, and Ole Miss on the other side of the bracket, as well as the impending winner between No. 5 North Carolina and USC, No. 3 Georgia will have to sit back and wait a minute to find out who the other three teams it could be playing will be. It will be the winners of No. 6 Texas vs. No. 11 Oregon, No. 7 Alabama vs. St. John's, and No. 15 Kansas vs. Oklahoma in the CWS.

Should Texas, Alabama, and Oklahoma all advance, Georgia could potentially play only SEC teams heading into the final, assuming the Dawgs get that far. UGA would need for Ole Miss to come out of the other side of the bracket to make this farfetched dream a reality. Anything can happen, especially in Omaha. So who is Georgia expected to play right off the bat in Omaha? Either Texas or Oregon...

No. 6 Texas entered Sunday with a 1-0 series lead over No. 11 Oregon. From there, it will be a double-elimination tournament in Omaha among both sides of the bracket before it resets to a best-of-three in the championship series. It should be noted that Alabama and Oklahoma won their respective Game 1's, making the dream of an all-SEC quadrant potentially on the horizon. That would be so wild!

The only thing wilder than this is Georgia might be the favorites to win the entire thing over in Omaha!
