April 30 marks the decision date for five-star tight end Jaxon Dollar. Georgia found out earlier this week that they were one of his five finalists along with Miami, Notre Dame, Texas and Clemson.
This clearly was going to be a difficult recruitment for Kirby Smart to win, but he made one final push the last few weeks that he is hoping would put Georgia over the top. And in a few hours Georgia will learn if that last push was good enough.
Georgia anxiously waits to see what 5-star Jaxon Dollar’s final decision will be
Georgia has countless reasons to be hopeful entering Dollar's final decision. Just two weeks ago he visited Athens for G-Day and immediately said he planned to announce his commitment soon after his visit ended. That never meant Georgia was the favorite but it seemed like a positive development.
At the beginning of this week Dollar confirmed that he was committing on April 30 and then named his five finalists. Then just one day later something amazing happened, Rivals predicted Georgia to win this recruitment.
Notre Dame was the team predicted to win this recruitment since last October, but that all changed earlier this week when Rivals said it was actually Georgia who was expected to win.
Anything is still possible until Dollar actually announces his commitment. Notre Dame and Miami have been front runners for months now and Texas and Clemson are big enough brands to win any recruitment, but it is Georgia who is the clear favorite on decision day.
Dollar would be the third five-star to commit to Georgia's 2027 class if he were to choose the Bulldogs. That is a remarkable fact considering it is still only April, but that just shows how impressive of a recruiter that Kirby Smart and his staff are.
