Georgia’s last ditch effort to catch 5-star RB’s eye could be too little too late

Georgia is falling behind in five-star running back Kemon Spell's recruitment. After he decommitted from Penn State last fall it was Georgia who immediately became one of the favorites to win his recruitment, but that sentiment may no longer be true.

After only a few months of being decommited from Penn State, 247Sports placed a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Nittany Lions to win this recruitment. Spell still doesn't plan on announcing a commitment anytime soon, but that is not the update anyone at Georgia wanted to see.

But the Bulldogs haven't given up just yet as they are making one last ditch effort to win him over.

Georgia given one last chance to win over 5-star RB Kemon Spell

According to multiple reports, Spell will be in Athens this weekend on a visit to Georgia. This coming weekend is shaping up to be a huge recruiting weekend for UGA, but Spell is by far the biggest target that will be on campus.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Spell is the No. 7 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 1 running back in the 2027 recruiting class and the top ranked player from his home state of Pennsylvania.

The fact that he is from Pennsylvania though is the biggest problem for Georgia and likely why he is still very interested in Penn State. But even though the Nittany Lions were just predicted to win his recruitment, Georgia insiders have continued to preach that UGA is not out of this recruitment yet.

And the fact that Spell is making a trip to Georgia this weekend proves that.

If Georgia is going to comeback and win this recruitment they need to knock this weekend's visit out of the park. This may be their last real chance to show Spell why Georgia is the right place for him, so hopefully the coaching staff uses this opportunity to their advantage.
