Georgia entered their rematch against Oklahoma in the College World Series feeling very good about themselves. Sure they already lost to the Sooners once, but that was only by one run. They also were feeling very confident after beating a really good Texas team for the second time on Tuesday.

Unfortunately their good vibes didn't last long as their season came to a stunning end at the hands of Oklahoma by an 11-4 final.

Georgia's season comes to a crashing end in blowout loss to Oklahoma

Georgia just couldn't get any momentum going against Oklahoma during this game. They got off to yet another slow start which allowed Oklahoma to take an early 4-0 lead.

Georgia did fight back by scoring a run in the fifth inning and two in the sixth, but each time they scored the Sooners always had an answer in the next inning.

Georgia's goal wasn't just to get to the College World Series, their goal was to win a National Championship. They clearly fell short of that goal, and that will leave the team and their fans feeling very disappointed. But this team shouldn't be remembered for their struggles in Omaha, they should be remembered for all the good that they brought the program this year.

How should Georgia fans remember this season?

No one is feeling great after seeing Georgia's season come to an end like this. And in all honesty everyone has a right to be upset, including the fans. At some point though the pain of this defeat will subside and everyone will be able to truly appreciate how great this season was.

Georgia won the SEC for the eleventh time in program history this year. They also won the SEC Tournament for the very first time in program history as well. Those are two accomplishments that everyone should be very proud of no matter what happened in the NCAA Tournament.

And speaking of the NCAA Tournament, Georgia had a really good run. They dominated the Athens Regional with three easy wins and then swept a red hot Mississippi State team in the Super Regional. This clinched Georgia's spot in the College World Series for the first time since 2008, and that means something.

Sure this team was good enough to win a National Championship, but sometimes in baseball things just don't go your way. Georgia however didn't embarrass themselves in Omaha. They beat Texas twice and nearly beat Oklahoma in their first game, so even though they got blown out to end their season they shouldn't hang their heads.

Georgia is here to stay. This program isn't going anywhere. Georgia will be back at the College World Series before anyone knows it, and maybe it will be their turn to win a National Championship when they do.
