Georgia lost their first game of the College World Series on Monday against the Oklahoma Sooners 4-3. This sent them to the losers' bracket where they were forced to play a Texas team that were eager for revenge after Georgia dominated them 7-1 in their first game at the CWS on Saturday.

The story of Georgia's loss to Oklahoma was how their bats failed to show up. Their approach at the plate was horrific, and it left fans begging for a change heading into their rematch with Texas.

Georgia's offense still wasn't great against Texas, but sometimes in baseball it doesn't have to be. And on Tuesday night they combined elite pitching with a brand new approach at the plate to keep their season alive and beat Texas 2-0.

Georgia completely changed their style of play to defeat Texas at the CWS

Georgia fans were not happy with how their team played against Oklahoma on Monday. It seemed like the goal for every at-bat was to hit a home run, and that ended up being a recipe for disaster as they only could score three runs all on solo shots.

Sure Georgia scored less runs in this game against Texas, but it was the manner in which they scored them that will have fans very excited.

The Longhorns' starting pitcher was lights out to start the game. Georgia couldn't even muster a hit let alone score a run, but in the fifth inning they finally got a runner on first base. Then instead of trying to hit a home run they bunted him over to second before hitting a small chopper to advance him to third. It was at that point that Georgia finally got a hit from Tre Phelps which brought the base runner home.

Georgia got a second run later in the game off a sacrifice fly by Rylan Lujo which again showed Georgia was prepared to play a different style of baseball on this night.

When Georgia is up against a hot pitching staff like Texas had they will be forced to manufacture some runs. Thankfully they were able to successfully do that, and behind an impressive pitching effort they were able to keep their season alive.

What's next for Georgia at the CWS after impressive victory against Texas?

After losing to Oklahoma on Monday Georgia once again is riding high and feeling very good about themselves after this victory. They now have to ride this momentum into another elimination game where they will get a chance at redemption against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Georgia and Oklahoma will play again on Wednesday, June 17 in a game that UGA has to in. If Georgia loses their season will be over, but if they win then they will face Oklahoma one more time on June 18 in an elimination game for both teams.

Georgia has a slight disadvantage right now because they need to win two games to advance to the National Championship series while Oklahoma only needs to win one. But Georgia has shown all season long how resilient of a ball club they are, so no one should count them out yet.

First pitch for Georgia's rematch with Oklahoma at the College World Series is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00 pm EST.
