Georgia has had a lot of issues recruiting a quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class. A lot of that has to do with no one wanting to come to UGA alongside Jayden Wade who is the No. 1 QB in the 2028 class, but even if that's the case Kirby Smart needs to find a quarterback to add to this recruiting class.

Four-star Davin Davidson is one of the QBs that Georgia has locked in on, and he is ready to end his recruitment and either break Georgia's heart or beome one of their biggest commitments in this class.

4-star Davin Davidson is ready to announce his commitment

Georgia didn't offer Davidson a scholarship that long ago. At the end of January they decided to finally offer him a scholarship, and since then they have grown really close to him.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings he is the No. 154 overall player in the country and No. 12 quarterback. That on its own shows how important this recruitment is for Georgia and how big of a deal it would be if he committed to Georgia, unfortunately things don't seem to be trending their way.

Davidson shared the he will be announcing his commitment on April 9. Georgia is one of his finalists he will decide between along with Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Auburn, Florida and Notre Dame. Unfortunately it is looking like the Gators will win this recruitment as 247Sports has four predictions logged in their favor.

This isn't the end of the world for Georgia because they still have a few other quarterbacks they are targeting. But this loss shows how difficult it will be for them to land an elite quarterback in their class because of Wade's commitment in the 2028 class.

Smart likely has a few tricks up his sleeve he will use to earn a commitment from someone, but it doesn't look like Davidson will be that player.
