Georgia football's senior class has accomplished a lot during their four years in Athens. They have won an SEC Championship, two National Championships and currently have the most wins for any senior class in Georgia football history.
But there's another accomplishment this group just achieved this weekend after their win against Georgia Tech that may not be as great as the three accomplishments mentioned, but is still very impressive and one every Georgia fan should be very excited about.
Senior class never lost to their rivals
Georgia's win over Georgia Tech extended their win streak over the Yellow Jackets to seven in a row. But what about UGA's other rivals? Georgia is currently on an eight game win streak against Auburn and a four game win streak over Florida.
So that means that Georgia's senior class has never lost to any of their rivals during their four year career. On top of these three teams, the Bulldogs's senior class did not lose to Tennessee either. Sure the Vols are not a rival like the other three teams, but Tennessee always seems to have really good team recently, so beating them every year is a huge accomplishment as well.
Sure this year's senior class will be remembered for many other things before this accomplishment, but it can't be stated enough how great of an accomplishment this really is. Everyone knows how difficult it is to win rivalry games, even as a big favorite. Georgia just learned that against Georgia Tech Friday night. So for UGA to beat all of their rivals and Tennessee the last four years, when these teams wanted to do nothing more than pull off the upset against the Bulldogs, is something that should and will always be remembered.
Hopefully this trend continues under Kirby Smart, because Georgia fans have gotten very used to this dominance over their rivals. But for now, let's enjoy this run while it lasts and give this class the credit they deserve, because beating Georgia's rivals is one of the best things every season.
