This weekend Georgia will host Auburn with hopes of getting to 7-0 on the season as they head into their bye week next week. The Bulldogs are hoping they will dominate Auburn which they've done so many times over the years under Kirby Smart, but the dominance started a few days early this year as they just flipped three-star corner Nash Johnson from Auburn on Tuesday.

Johnson originally committed to Auburn on May 31, but he still showed interest in Georgia since then. He took an official visit to Athens in June and apparently his relationship with UGA grew from there because he officially flipped to Georgia on Tuesday.
Johnson is a three-star corner who is the No. 551 player in the country, according to 247Sports. He also is the No. 54 corner in the 2027 class and the No. 65 player from the state of Georgia as well.
Johnson is one of the lower ranked recruits in Georgia's 2027 class, but that shouldn't matter. If Smart thinks he's good enough to play at Georgia then he probably is, and the fact UGA stole him from Auburn makes this win that much better.
This hopefully won't be the only win over Auburn this week
This recruiting win over Auburn hopefully won't be the last victory for Georgia this weekend. Georgia hosts Auburn on Saturday, Oct.17 in Sanford Stadium with hopes of beating the Tigers for the tenth time in a row.
Georgia enters this game at 6-0 and the No. 1 team in the country after beating Alabama on the road this past week. Auburn on the other hand is 3-2 and unranked and are coming off their bye week. Auburn could be healthier and more fresh than Georgia because they are coming off a bye, but Vegas doesn't think that will matter all that much because UGA is currently favored by 20.5 points on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
In a few days Georgia will try to beat Auburn on the football field, but it's nice to start the celebrations early by adding Johnson to their recruiting class.
Georgia's recruiting class jumps back into the top 10
Georgia’s 2027 class hasn’t been ranked as high as anyone would like. That has had more to do with the Bulldogs class being smaller in size than other programs, but they’ve been ranked well outside the top 10 for most of the year which is a bit concerning.
Johnson’s commitment though puts Georgia back inside the top 10 right at No. 10. That still isn’t where anyone wants to be, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Georgia has plenty of time to add more commits or even some flips before signing day in December. Typically Kirby Smart has a few tricks up his sleeve every year when the recruiting cycle comes to an end, so Johnson’s commitment could be the first of a couple big moves over the next month and a half for Georgia.
Game odds adjust periodically and are subject to change.
