Georgia football once again finds themselves in a showdown with rival Florida. This time however it isn’t taking place on the football field, this intense battle is occurring on the recruiting trail as both Georgia and Florida are attempting to flip a commit from each other.

Georgia and Florida attempting to pull a fast one on each other

Over the last couple weeks, Georgia has made it clear that they want to steal offensive tackle Tyler Chukuyem from Florida. He has been committed to the Gators for about two months now, but he has still been listening to Kirby Smart’s recruiting pitch recently.

Georgia finally handed out a scholarship offer to Chukuyem a couple days ago, and this offer apparently really stood out to him. This offer was so big that Chukuyem already shared that he plans on visiting Georgia this season for a game.

While these updates paint Georgia in a good light with Chukuyem, the Gators are unfortunately attempting to pull the same move with four-star UGA commit Justice Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick has been committed to Georgia since the beginning of June, but new reports have surfaced showing his recruitment is far from over. Texas and Miami (FL) we’re the first two teams linked with him, but Florida is also going all out for Fitzpatrick as well.

Similarly to Chukuyem, Fitzpatrick also plans on taking some visits to other programs during the season as well. This all but likely includes Florida, but this has not been confirmed yet.

These two recruitments are going to be extremely exciting to watch over the next couple months. Georgia has a chance to assert their dominance over Florida by winning both of these recruitments, but losing to Florida in either of these battles, let alone both, would be a tough pill to swallow.
