Georgia just put the finishing touches on their blowout 42-7 victory at Ole Miss on Saturday. While this is a win worth celebrating they need to turn the page and get ready to face a solid Missouri team at home this week.

Georgia currently is a 13.5 point favorite over Missouri, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook. That may seem like a wide margin considering Missouri will likely be ranked this week, but Vegas may need to update this spread by a few points.

Vegas may not have Georgia favored by enough points against Missouri

Missouri is a good football team, but they are nowhere near the level that Georgia is playing at. After beating Ole Miss by 35 points it feels like UGA should be favored by a good margin against any team in the country, but that is especially the case against this Missouri team.

Missouri is 6-3 this season which is nothing to be ashamed of. They however just lost to Texas 34-20 on Saturday at home, but they have an ever worse loss on their resume this year. Earlier this year Missouri played Ole Miss in a game they lost 31-3. That's right, Missouri lost by 28 to the same team that Georgia just beat by 35.

The transitive property doesn't work in sports, but this shows just how ugly this game could get next week. Beating Missouri by two touchdowns would certainly feel good, but it feels far more likely that Georgia will win by a much larger margin.

Georgia can't fall into the same trap against Missouri

Georgia lost to Auburn earlier this season one week after an emotional win at Alabama. They also just became the No. 1 team in the country before playing Auburn and they more than likely will be ranked No. 1 this week too since Miami lost to Notre Dame on Saturday.

The scenario Georgia finds themselves in is nearly identical to where they were at when the lost to Auburn. They are a big favorite at home against a team they should easily beat one week after winning a massive road game. It can be a little scary seeing how similar these two situations are, but hopefully Georgia learned from their mistakes against Auburn.

Georgia has been a different team since losing to Auburn. Sure they have only played two games since that defeat, but they were two blowout wins away from home against two good teams in Florida and Ole Miss. This Georgia team looks completely different from the squad that lost to Auburn, so hopefully they use that loss to their advantage by not letting the same thing happen again this week against Missouri.
