Georgia moved to 4-0 after dismantling Oklahoma 45-13, and up next is another overmatched opponent in Vanderbilt. Georgia just won their fourth game in a row by at least 28 points, but Vegas isn't confident they can do it again because they are only favored by 24.5 points over Vandy, according to DrafKings Sportsbook.
Georgia has been dominant in every game so far this season while Vanderbilt is yet to look that good. The Commodores only beat Austin Peay by 19 points in their season opener before barely skating by Delaware 35-26 the next week. Then they needed a miracle final play in week three to beat NC State before losing their first game of the season this weekend against Arkansas.
Sure Georgia's played a lot of poor competition this year, but they are handling their business like they should and blowing these teams out. Vanderbilt is another team that would qualify as poor competition, but somehow Vegas doesn't think Georgia can win by as many points as they have been.
Georgia vs Vanderbilt odds predict another big win for UGA
23.5 points is a massive spread even in a game that features one of the best teams in the SEC against potentially one of the worst. Vegas believes Georgia will comfortably win this game, but based on what's transpired all season 24.5 points may not be a big enough spread.
Vanderbilt hasn't looked that great in any of their games this season. They are one play away from being 2-2 and they didn't look as good as an SEC team should against the cupcakes on their schedule to start the season. Georgia on the other hand has been about as dominant as can realistically be expected of them which includes winning every game they've played by at least four touchdowns.
Maybe Vegas knows something we don't, but it feels like this spread should be higher. If Georgia were to win by 24 points like Vegas thinks that would be their fifth easy win in a row, but this feels like a game Georgia could win by a lot more.
Vegas believes Georgia will get their revenge against Jared Curtis
This week marks the first opportunity at revenge for Georgia this season. The Bulldogs have a road trip to Ole Miss circled on their schedule since they were the team to knock them out of the College Football Playoff last season, but Vanderbilt gives them a chance at revenge too.
True freshman quarterback Jared Curtis is expected to make the third start of his career at Georgia. That name likely rings a bell because he was originally committed to Georgia throughout much of last year. He eventually decommitted from Georgia a couple days before signing day and ultimately chose to flip to Vanderbilt.
Curtis has had some good moments so far at Vandy, but he hasn't been to rekindle the magic they experienced the last couple years under Diego Pavia. He also just started his first road game of his career at Auburn this weekend where he completed 22 of 33 passes for 199 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception.
Georgia will be ready to show him how big of a mistake he made flipping to Vanderbilt. The fans in the stands will be anxious to make life as difficult as possible for him as well. Vegas may only think Georgia will win by about 24 points, but they are still predicting Georgia will get their revenge against Curtis in dominant fashion.
