Florida football once again hired a new head coach this offseason. That has become extremely common during Kirby Smart’s tenure because the Gators have struggled to even look like an average program for over a decade.
New head coach Jon Sumrall however is confident he can be the one to turn things around. Why is that? Because he thinks recruiting at Florida is easy.
Now it’s up to Georgia to make him regret that statement.
NEW: Florida HC Jon Sumrall boasts on how EASY recruiting is at Florida:

Georgia will make Jon Sumrall regret opening his mouth
There have been so many great things to happen to Georgia during their run of success under Smart. The national titles and SEC Championships are at the top of that list, but their dominance over their rivals has been just as thrilling as well.
Sumrall however isn’t worried enough about Georgia though because he said recruiting at Florida is easy. Anytime new leadership takes over a program it’s easy to dream big. But what happens if the season starts and the results on the field aren’t good? Will it still be easy to recruit then?
Sumrall is right that Florida can recruit at a high level if they become the program they used to be years ago. But is anyone convinced they can do that? Ever since Urban Meyer left they have been an average SEC team at best, and nothing has ever changed when they fire a head coach and find someone new.
Sumrall has a chance to be the exception to that trend, but no one outside of Florida is holding their breath.
Georgia is in the unique position now where they can keep Florida at the level they’ve been at for over a decade now. They get to play Florida every season, and if they keep winning then the Gators will never become the program Sumrall thinks they can be.
So Florida better enjoy the hype while they can, because if history repeats itself like it tends to it won’t be long before everyone (recruits included) realizes that Florida is the same program they’ve always been.
