On Tuesday Georgia fans were met with the unfortunate news that Gunner Stockton has suffered a leg injury. According to Kirby Smart it doesn't sound like it is serious at all, but any injury to the starting quarterback is a reason for concern.

Stockton however isn't the only player that is dealing with an injury as transfer wide receiver Isiah Canion has reportedly been sidelined with an ankle injury as well.

"He's (Canion) dealing with an ankle injury right now," Smart said via 247sports.com. "He's been out for a day or two. He sprained an ankle. It's nothing real serious. But he's dealing with an ankle injury, and we'll get him back out there as soon as we can."

Thankfully it sounds like Canion's injury isn't serious either. While a sprained ankle is painful and will completely sideline anyone while it heals, it shouldn't keep Canion out of practice for an extended period of time.

This is great news for Georgia because Canion is one of their most important players this season. It is no secret that Georgia's wide receiver room is young and inexperienced. Canion however is not one of those players.

He came from Georgia Tech this offseason where he really excelled in the Yellow Jackets' offense the last couple years. That is especially the case last year when he was just shy of 500 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Canion may not be the most talented player in Georgia's wide receiver room, but he is one of the most experienced. That experience will be critical because all of the young receivers will be able to learn what it takes to excel at a major program like Georgia.

It's unclear how long Canion will be out, but it shouldn't be much longer before he is back on the field again.
