Georgia football is set to begin their 2025 season in just few days when they will welcome Marshall to Athens Saturday afternoon. At this point in the offseason depth charts usually have already been shared and UGA fans know who their starters will be at every position.
That however is not the case this year as Kirby Smart failed to release a depth chart at his press conference on Monday when everyone expected him to.

Kirby Smart is yet to release Georgia's initial depth chart
The biggest positional battle people wanted an answer to was who Georgia's starting quarterback would be. The assumption is that it will be Gunner Stockton, but that has not been confirmed yet. Smart was even asked on Monday if he might play two quarterbacks on Saturday, and he refused to give a clear answer to that question.
On top of that, Smart did confirm on Monday that there are still positional battles going on at Georgia during their game week preparations for Marshall. So that fact alone might be why he has not released a depth chart yet.
But a few ongoing positional battles hasn't stopped them from releasing a depth chart in the past. It is possible to list two players as potential starters on the depth chart if they still don't know who the starter will be, but the fact Georgia didn't even choose to do that shows that the Bulldogs may be hiding something. Either that or there is just too much unkown about who their 22 starters will be this season.
Regardless, Georgia fans will soon learn who their starters are when they take the field against Marshall Saturday afternoon. Will it be Stockton under center or will Ryan Puglisi shock the world and win the job? Has corner Ellis Robinson won a starting job in the secondary like it's been hinted?
Both of these questions and much more will be answered very soon, unfortunately Georgia fans will just have to keep playing the waiting game while Smart keeps as much information close to his chest as he possibly can.
