Jared Curtis infamously flipped his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt right before signing day in December last year. Fast forward to today and with less than two weeks before the Commodores' first game of the season they announced that Blaze Berlowitz will be their starting quarterback, not Curtis.
This was a bit of a surprise because one of the biggest reasons why he decommitted from Georgia in the first place was because of the opportunity to start at Vanderbilt as a true freshman. That however did not happen, and Georgia fans might be a little happy to see him fall short.

Jared Curtis loses Vanderbilt's starting QB job after turning his back on Georgia
Curtis losing the starting job doesn't mean he is a bad player. It's hard for a true freshman to start at any school, so failing to win the starting job doesn't say anything about his potential going forward.
Georgia fans however might be a bit happy to see him lose the starting job.
Not only did Curtis receive a big NIL deal to flip to Vanderbilt, but he knew he stood a much better chance starting their this season with Gunner Stockton returning to Georgia. He could've waited one year in Athens before getting a chance to compete for the starting job at Georgia next season, but he rolled the dice in hopes of winning the starting job at Vanderbilt.
Now he'll have to sit and watch from the sidelines at Vanderbilt when he could've done that at Georgia.
Curtis will likely get his chance to start at some point in the future, but instead of waiting for his turn at a historic program like Georgia he'll have to wait his turn at one of the worst SEC programs in college football history.
Georgia will have to wait longer to get their revenge against Jared Curtis
Georgia will face Vanderbilt in Athens this season in week five. Some Georgia fans were hoping that Curtis would be their starting quarterback so they could have an opportunity for revenge, that unfortunately won't be happening this year.
Georgia will probably have another opportunity for revenge against Curtis at some point in the future. There's always a chance Georgia and Vanderbilt could play in the SEC Championship game, but it seems unlikely the Commodores will make it there. Georgia however will make a return trip to Vanderbilt during the 2028 season though, so as long as Curtis doesn't transfer and he wins the starting job by then Georgia will finally get their chance for revenge.
That revenge would've tasted much sweeter this season though. Two years from now him ditching Georgia won't be fresh anymore, so people may not even view that game as a chance for revenge anymore.
Georgia will push forward this season and still do everything they can to beat Vanderbilt this year. The team probably doesn't care that Curtis won't be on the field, but there will likely be some fans that feel sad about missing out on this opportunity.
