Georgia will have revenge on their mind all season long. The Bulldogs will get their biggest opportunity for revenge when they travel to Ole Miss during week 10, but this year overall is a chance for UGA to show that they are still the best team in the SEC who are capable of making a deep College Football Playoff run again.
Ole Miss won't be the only opportunity for revenge this season though. The Bulldogs can also get some revenge in week five when they host Vanderbilt and former five-star quarterback commit Jared Curtis.
Cutis turned his back on Georgia and flipped to Vanderbilt just day before signing day last year. This left a very sour taste in everyone's mouth, so Georgia was ecstatic when they found out that he has to come to Athens in 2026. This matchup however just got even better as it was announced that it will be Georgia's annual homecoming game this season.
Per release, Georgia’s annual homecoming game will be October 3rd against Vanderbilt.

Georgia's chance for revenge against Jared Curtis can't get any better
Georgia was already really looking forward to playing Curtis and Vanderbilt this season. They will host the Commodores during week five in Athens, and after watching how Curtis's recruitment unfolded the fans in the stands will be ready to make life extremely difficult for him.
But this matchup being the Bulldogs' annual homecoming game make this even better. Homecoming is always a special day in Athens to celebrate Georgia's traditions and culture they have built under Kirby Smart, so not only will Georgia have a chance to beat Curtis but they can show him what he's missing out on.
This game unfortunately won't be played at night, but at the end of the day beating Curtis after he turned his back on the program will be thrilling no matter what time of day it is.
Jared Curtis could play spoiler to one of the biggest games of Georgia's season
Vanderbilt won't be Georgia's biggest game of the season. The Bulldogs have a few huge matchups this season that trump this game which includes road tilts at Ole Miss and Alabama and a home date with Oklahoma. But outside of those three games it's hard to find one bigger than this on the rest of the schedule.
Vanderbilt has turned into a respectable program over the last two years. Quarterback Diego Pavia is gone now though, so how will they handle having to start a new quarterback now?
They hope that Curtis will be ready to start as a true freshman, but reports indicate that he hasn't won the starting job yet. But if he does he could play spoiler not just for Georgia's homecoming game but for their entire season as well because it's hard to imagine UGA winning the SEC or making the College Football Playoff if they drop this game.
Curtis and Vanderbilt got the last laugh in December when he signed with the Commodores, but winning on field is the only thing that actually matters. Facing Curtis this early in his career is the best case scenario for Georgia to finally get their revenge, so hopefully Curtis is their starter and the Bulldogs hand him an embarrassing loss.
