According to these new details Curtis’ NIL deal is comparable to the deal fellow five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood signed at Michigan. That deal was made public and was known to be worth around $10 million for his entire college career. Curtis’ specific deal still wasn’t shared, but this implies that he’ll be making about $2.5 million per year at Vanderbilt.
Georgia undoubtedly offered Curtis a good NIL deal. That’s the only way they could ever earn the commitment from the No. 1 QB in the country in the first place, but there’s no chance their offer was even close to $2.5 million per year.
Kirby Smart hopes that Georgia’s track record of success both on the field and developing their players into NFL stars is enough to convince players like Curtis to still pick Georgia, and in many cases it is. But for Curtis it wasn’t because what he truly cared most about was making as much money as possible.
That decision could ultimately come back to bite him in the butt. Who knows if Vanderbilt will develop him better than Georgia could’ve, but everyone knows he would win more at Georgia. And that will be proven true this season when Georgia gets their first opportunity at revenge.

Georgia hosts Curtis and Vanderbilt week five in Athens this season. This will be Georgia’s first opportunity for revenge against Curtis, and they will be motivated to show him why he made the wrong choice.
Georgia fans will be ready to make life extremely difficult whenever he takes the field too. Curtis still hasn’t been named Vanderbilt’s starting quarterback, but that is the expectation. So when Vanderbilt rolls into Athens Curtis not only will have to face one of the best defenses in the country, but he’ll also have to deal with 90,000 angry Bulldog fans ready to give him hell.
And to make this game even better, Georgia announced their matchup against Vanderbilt will be their homecoming game this season too.
Vanderbilt on paper isn’t one of Georgia’s biggest games this season. Their rival matchups along with their games against Alabama, Ole Miss and Oklahoma are much more important, but this game is sneakily one of the most critical for Georgia this year, and if Curtis is their starter that will be the case even more.
