Back in December five-star quarterback Jared Curtis shocked the college football world by ditching Georgia and flipping his commitment to Vanderbilt. These two schools are nowhere near the same level, but Curtis felt like staying close to home and trying to do something special with his hometown school was the right choice.

And for that he can't really be faulted.

But how much success will he actually find at Vanderbilt? Sure they have been a program on the rise but can he keep that going? Most college football fans outside of Nashville don't see much success in their future, but Curtis is confident that they can win a National Championship.

"I'm going to win the national championship that you couldn't win," Curtis said to former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia via ugawire.usatoday.com.

Georgia will make sure Jared Curtis's promise to Vanderbilt will never come true

Everyone wants to win a National Championship, but only a few programs actually can. Is Vanderbilt one of those schools? Probably not, but that doesn't mean Curtis can't try.

This is the exact mindset Curtis should have, but that doesn't mean Georgia fans can't find it hilarious that he believes he can actually win one.

Vanderbilt lost so much talent from a season ago on a team that couldn't even make it to the College Football Playoff, so why would he be confident they can win it all now?

In reality he should be a little more worried about how Vanderbilt is going to develop him. Diego Pavia was the Heisman runner up last season but still went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, so maybe making it to the NFL would be a better goal for him.

The good news is that Georgia will always have a chance to prevent Curtis and Vanderbilt from winning it all. The Commodores will travel to Athens this season which gives Georgia the perfect opportunity for revenge and to hurt their chances of winning a title this season.

But Georgia may not have to do much to prevent them from winning a title because Vanderbilt does not have anywhere close to enough talent to win it all right now.
