Jared Curtis makes final recruiting pitch for 5-star Jackson Cantwell

Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell’s commitment is quickly approaching. The No. 1 recruit in the 2026 recruiting class will be announcing his commitment on May 13, and he will be deciding between Georgia, Oregon, Miami (FL) and Ohio State.

But who will Cantwell commit to?

Things are looking very good for Georgia two days out because they received an official prediction on Sunday from 247Sports to win this recruitment. This prediction came on the heels of Cantwell’s final visit to Athens that took place this weekend, which looks to have gone extremely well.

One Georgia commit that was in town with Cantwell this weekend was five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, who just made his commitment to UGA official on May 5. To no one’s surprise, Curtis is doing everything he can to convince Cantwell to join him in Georgia, that pretty much is the only reason Curtis was in Athens this weekend to begin with.

And while Curtis likely spoke with Cantwell a lot about why he should choose Georgia, he made his final pitch to Cantwell Sunday on social media which sent Georgia fans into an early celebration.

Celebrating before a commit actually makes things official to Georgia is a bold choice, but it’s hard not to when all signs are pointing to Georgia in this recruitment. But when Curtis and Cantwell shared the above picture of their time together this weekend, Georgia fans rightfully went crazy.

These two have the potential to be the next great players that lead Georgia to a National Championship. They have the potential to go down in the Georgia history books forever, and that all begins right now when they are announcing their commitments to UGA.

They certainly have a lot of work to do if they do want to be remembered by Georgia fans forever, but the first step is committing to Georgia. And in just two days that dream could become a reality for Georgia fans.
