For the third year in a row Georgia is not the favorite to win the SEC. And who might be the favorite? The Texas Longhorns, for the third year in a row.
That's right, even though Georgia is 3-0 against the Longhorns since they joined the SEC they are still not the preseason favorite.
How is that even possible? Especially considering Georgia is one of the top teams in the country when it comes to returning production? It's simple, everyone is just taking Kirby Smart and Georgia for granted.

Joel Klatt backs Georgia when no one else seems willing to
Joel Klatt put it best in the above video by saying that everyone is just taking Georgia for granted. They have been so good for so long that people just want to see someone else in the SEC win, but sometimes it's just as simple as going with the team that has proven they can win.
And when it comes to the SEC, no one has proven they can win more than Georgia.
Since the SEC expanded Georgia is the only school that has won the conference. They also are the last team in the conference to win a National Championship after going back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.
But all that success has led to fans and analysts alike to hope that another team will win the SEC. And for some reason they all seem to fall on Texas, the one team who can never beat Georgia.
Arch Manning seems to be the biggest reason why everyone loves Texas, but what has he done to earn their respect? He's a great player, but he hasn't even proven that he's better than Gunner Stockton, so why should he be given the benefit of the doubt over him?
This lack of respect will only fuel Smart and Georgia even more, so don't be surprised at the end of this season to see Georgia on top of the SEC and everyone wondering why they didn't pick them to do so.
