Georgia will enter the 2026 season as one of the favorites to win the SEC. They however will not be the No. 1 favorite as Texas is the current betting favorite according to Vegas.

Texas currently has +310 odds to win the SEC while Georgia sits at +330, so Vegas thinks the two are extremely close. But for the third year in a row they have the Longhorns as the favorite in the SEC which shows they haven't learned their lesson after the last two years.

Vegas oddsmakers refuses to give Georgia the respect they deserve

Texas has been the favorite every year to win the SEC since they joined the conference. And what did that result in? Back-to-back SEC Championships for Georgia. This includes beating Texas twice in 2024 and again in 2025 en route to the Bulldogs' two titles.

Did Vegas learn their lesson? Nope. They still have Texas as the favorite once again even though Georgia has proven they deserve more respect.

Vegas can't seem to make up their mind with how they view Georgia heading into this season. They believe Georgia is one of two teams in the SEC that have a better chance to make the playoff then miss it, but they also have their over-under win total set at 9.5.

But making Texas the favorite once again makes no sense after what's transpired the last two years.

Georgia and Texas aren't scheduled to play this season, but if Vegas is correct these two will face off in Atlanta with the SEC Championship on the line. If history means anything then this would be another victory for Georgia which would push them to 4-0 against the Longhorns since they joined the conference.

Vegas however believes that Texas would win that game, but that is probably fine with Kirby Smart. He and Georgia thrive in the underdog role, so maybe being the second fiddle to Texas again this year is the best case scenario.
