What Georgia football fan doesn't love beating Florida? Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs have been dominant against Florida on the field in recent years, having defeated the Gators the last four seasons and seven of the last eight.
While winning on the field is always the most important thing, beating Florida on the recruiting trail is just as satisfying. And that is exactly what happened on Tuesday when a talented defensive back just flipped his commitment from Florida to Georgia.

Transfer DB Adrian Maddox
Adrian Maddox is a transfer defensive back who has spent three years in college so far. His first two seasons were at Alabama State where he combined for 70 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions in two seasons. After the 2023 season, Maddox transferred to UAB for the 2024 season where he recorded a career high 44 tackles as well as seven passes defended, two forced fumbles and one interception.
After the 2024 season, Maddox entered the transfer portal once again as he was looking to make the jump to the power four level. And that is when Florida and Georgia came knocking and immediately showed interest in him.
Maddox unfortunately committed to Florida initially, but everyone knows that commitments nowadays can change in a hurry, which is exactly what happened with Maddox. Tuesday afternoon, Maddox made the announcement that he was flipping his commitment from Florida to Georgia, which means the Bulldogs are once again beating the Gators on the recruiting trail.
Maddox is the second defensive back who committed to Georgia on Tuesday as Miami (FL) transfer Jaden Harris made his commitment to Georgia official Tuesday morning.
