One of the biggest talking points so far this offseason has been if Mike Bobo is good enough to be the Offensive Coordinator for Georgia football. After UGA's season came to an end in the College Football Playoff, Bobo received the most criticism from the fanbase, with many calling for him to be fired.

That obviously has not happened and is unlikely to considering Bobo recently signed a new contract extension, but that hasn't stopped fans from voicing their displeasures.

Kirby Smart spoke with the media on Tuesday as Georgia begins spring ball, and Bobo and his status on staff came up to no one's surprise. And according to Smart, it doesn't sound like his job is in jeopardy at all.

“Honest with you, I don't get into it much," Smart shared via si.com. "I worked in a place for 10 years before I came here, and it's my 10th spring. So that's 20 years that, you know, I really don't pay much attention to anything outside. I got a lot of confidence in this organization, the foundation we've built. I've got the best staff in the country, and I have no doubt about that. I've got one of the most experienced SEC staffs there is, and to be honest, a lot of confidence in that, and I have a lot of confidence.”

Can Mike Bobo prove everyone wrong?

Bobo became the Offensive Coordinator in 2023, and that 2023 season went extremely well. However, this past season as mentioned did not go as planned on the offensive side of the ball to the point where many wanted Bobo fired.

The chances of that happening were always slim because Bobo has proven himself in year's past as a coach and Georgia just won an SEC Championship this season. But that doesn't mean Bobo is immune to criticism, and if Georgia's offense continues to struggle again this season then Smart might have to make a tough decision.

But until that happens, Bobo is safe in Athens especially if Smart is pleased with him and the entire staff that he has in place. It's unlikely that will change the opinions of fans, but Bobo and the entire staff in place today almost certainly will be the ones taking the field with the team come this fall.
