Georgia football is fresh off their stunning loss to Ole Miss Saturday night. Maybe the loss itself isn’t stunning, but the fact they lost 28-10 is.

The question now is how will Georgia respond after this tough loss.

Thankfully Kirby Smart addressed this concern, and discussed what he expects from his team moving forward.

"I think they'll respond like they do everything," Smart said via 247sports.com. "They'll come out and compete, practice hard. I think you guys get caught up in all those numbers and records and all that. I don't even care about that. The only thing I'm worried about is how we get better tomorrow."

"We're on a long journey. It's a long journey and you've got to play the next play and you've got to play the next game, and that's the goal for this group. That's what I told him in there. I was like, guys, our future's in front of us. We've got to figure out how to get better."

Georgia’s future is still in front of them

Smart makes a great point that Georgia still has everything to play for in front of them. Making the SEC championship game may seem unlikely at this point, but it is theoretically still possible. And the College Football Playoffs? Georgia will undoubtedly make it into the 12-team field if they win out.

But one more loss and both the SEC title game and CFP go out the window.

So it’s critical that Georgia takes this loss on the chin, picks themselves up off the mat, and prepare for their final three games of the regular season.

These last three games will not be easy as a top 10 Tennessee team will be coming to Athens next weekend. The entire country will have their eyes on this showdown as ESPN’s College GameDay will be in town for this one.

On top of that, Georgia Tech just handed Miami (FL) their first loss of the season on Saturday, so that game doesn’t look like a guaranteed win anymore either.

So hopefully Smart is right and his team come out and work extremely hard the rest of this season, especially this week. Because if they don’t, all their goals will be shattered on Saturday if they lose to Tennessee.
