Is Mike Bobo the right person to be Georgia's offensive coordinator? There's a large segment of the fanbase that wishes Kirby Smart would fire him, but so far that has not happened.
The fans that are upset with Bobo don't think his offense his creative enough to win a National Championship. They have seen his offense stall in the College Football Playoff two years in a row, and that is enough for them demand Smart fire him and hire someone else in his place.
Smart was asked about what he thinks of Bobo and how the fans treat him during SEC Media Days on Tuesday, and he made it abundantly clear that he believes Bobo is the right man for the job.
"I know we got the right offensive coordinator," Smart said via 247Sports.com. "I know he gets the best out of me and all my teammates," Stockton said. "Cuz a lot of people have criticism. They don't get to see the day in, day out. Seeing what Coach Bobo does, he barely sleeps during the game week. But they don't see all the work he puts in. The love he has for the university, the love he has for all my teammates, and me. I truly don't think nobody understands how hard he works. And I think he's the best play caller in the country. And I'm just really excited for this season."
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton was also asked a similar question at SEC Media Days as well, and he is also a firm believer in Bobo too.

The Mike Bobo ridicule has always been an overreaction from Georgia fans
Bobo deserves to be questioned after Georgia's offense struggled in each of their CFP games the last two seasons. Even if Georgia's offense was solid throughout the rest of the year, if they aren't winning playoff games then that ultimately means they aren't good enough.
But demanding Bobo should be fired has always been a bit of a stretch.
Georgia's offense statistically has been one of the most efficient in the country the last few seasons. They have been able to score a lot of points and have been able to move the ball at will against most teams they play. Sure fans maybe think Bobo's play calls aren't as sexy as they'd like, but if it's effective then why should anyone care?
The bad news for fans who don't like Bobo is that he (as well as defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann) signed a contract extension through the 2028 season. So he clearly isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and that is especially the case after the positive things both Smart and Stockton said about him at SEC Media Days.
But the 2026 season feels like a make or break year for Bobo. If his offense is responsible for another playoff loss or if Georgia fails to make the CFP altogether then Smart may have no choice but to move on from him. But based on how things have gone the last few years Georgia feels due for a deep playoff run behind a dominant offense.
