The biggest name being talked about on the recruiting trail the most right now is five-star quarterback Jared Curtis. Curtis is the No. 1 QB in the 2026 class, and he has named Georgia football and Oregon as his two finalists.

Curtis is in the middle of a long unofficial visit to Athens, which came just one day after an extended stay at Oregon. He does plan to visit both programs later this summer on official visits as well, but it's clear that these two visits this week are crucial in his recruitment and could play a role in who the current leader in his recruitment is.

So out of all the players for Kirby Smart to place a high importance on, Curtis is the one. And it appears the pitch Smart and his staff are using is not only very unique, but is catching the eye of Curtis as well.

Georgia thinks Curtis could be a future No. 1 overall pick

The above post shows that Georgia is pitching Curtis as a future No. 1 draft pick, and they believe they can help him achieve that goal at Georgia.

To be fair, this is probably something any program recruiting Curtis would say, but Georgia is one of the few programs who can back it up. Not only have they produced a No. 1 overall pick in quarterback Matthew Stafford, but no program is better at developing NFL talent than the Bulldogs, especially during Smart's tenure. Year in and year out, Georgia finds the most success in the NFL and is one of the programs with the most draft picks at every draft.

The best example of this was when representatives from all 32 NFL teams were at Georgia's Pro Day this past Wednesday.

This recruitment so far is extremely close with both programs having a legit chance to win the services of Curtis, but On3 recently named Georgia as the favorite as of today. Who knows if that is actually the case, but Georgia appears to be making their best pitch possible, and it looks like Curtis is listening.
