Georgia football is nearing the end of their season, and that means it's about time for postseason play.

The Bulldogs have a great opportunity to win a championship next week when they head to Atlanta to play for an SEC Championship, but Georgia has their eyes set on something much greater than that. A National Championship.

However, in order to put themselves in position to win that, they need to get a lot healthier. Kirby Smart has shared recently that the running back room's health is improving, but there are some other key players who still have a ways to go in their recovery.

"Christen Miller, not much," Smart said via 247sports.com. "He's been banged up, recovering, running, doing some treatment stuff. Dillon Bell, a little bit. He's done some walk-throughs with us and taken some reps. But we're just trying to get those guys healthy and ready."

DL Christen Miller and WR Dillon Bell

Defensive lineman Christen Miller has played all 11 games so far this season for Georgia and has been a force on the defensive line. He did however pick up an injury during Georgia's win over UMass that is putting into question if he will be good to go against Georgia Tech on Friday.

Smart's comments make it seem unlikely that he will be back in time, but with as deep as the defensive line is for Georgia it may be in their best interest to rest Miller this weekend to get him fully healthy for postseason play.

Moving to the offensive side of the ball, Smart didn't share too much about wide receiver Dillon Bell, but it also sounds like he may not be ready to go this weekend either. That would be very unfortunate because Georgia has been using him in the running game with all the injuries at that position. So hopefully Georgia's traditional running backs are healthy for Friday's game so Bell's absence won't be as noticeable.

If Georgia is going to make a run at a National Championship they need to get healthier and not suffer any significant injuries these next two weeks. If they can do that, then Georgia will have a chance to beat any team in the country.
