Georgia's wide receiver room might be becoming a problem. This group has to replace all of their top pass catchers from a season ago, and that inexperience has led Kirby Smart to really challenge his receivers multiple times this offseason already.

On Tuesday Smart was asked about the need to find an alpha in his wide receiver room, and his answer creates even more doubt about this group.

"I think we need somebody to pop every year," Smart said via 247sports.com. "I mean, who's gonna be explosive if it's not them, right? Like, when you look at explosive plays in college football, it's your skill players, right? So, have you ever seen a team be explosive without explosive players? I doubt it,"

Kirby Smart's new worry may cause fans to smash the panic button

Zachariah Branch was arguably the biggest reason why Georgia's offense was so good last year. His explosiveness was unmatched and was very difficult for opposing teams to defend, and the attention defenses had to give him made it possible for other players to perform at a high level as well.

But what happens if Georgia doesn't have an explosive player like Branch? Their offense would become to predictable and much easier to defend against.

That is a problem Georgia could face this year, and based on Smart's response they haven't identified a truly explosive player yet.

There are a few obvious candidates like Talyn Taylor who has been turning heads all camp. Then there is Georgia Tech transfer Isiah Canion who brings ample experience that Georgia could take advantage of.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter who becomes Georgia's explosive player this year. All that matters is that they find someone, but as of now it doesn't sound like they have figured out who that player is yet.

But there is plenty of talent in their wide receiver room, so there is no reason fans should panic at this point in the offseason.
