Georgia football’s annual Pro Day is officially in the books, and by all accounts it was a great day for many Bulldogs. A few Bulldogs however stood out above the rest, including Dan Jackson who was not invited to the NFL Combine a few weeks ago.

But one player who was invited to the Combine who did well on Wednesday was safety Malaki Starks. Starks had a solid performance at the Combine, but one NFL Draft expert named him a “loser” after the Combine. That label is definitely up for debate because Starks still did very well at the Combine, but it was key for him to have a great Pro Day so he could shake that label off him.

And based on what Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Jeff Ulbrich said during his workout, it sounds like he did just that.

There are a lot of things someone could have said about Starks that would be huge for his draft stock, but Ulbrich was quoted saying Starks is the “safest” pick in the NFL Draft.

So it seems like that label of being a “loser” at the Combine wont be sticking with Starks, because being labeled the safest pick in the upcoming draft is about as good of a compliment as anyone could receive. And the extra bonus for Georgia fans is that this comment came from the Atlanta Falcons, so maybe they’ll finally draft a Bulldog this year.

Starks came into Wednesday’s Pro Day as a consensus first round pick, and there’s zero chance that changed after his impressive workout. The only question that remains is who will draft Starks in the first round in April. And whoever it is will probably end up being very thankful that they did.
