Mike White deserves the same treatment Georgia fans give Mike Bobo

If Georgia fans are going to try and run anyone out of town it should be Mike White.

Georgia football offensive coordinator Mike Bobo receives more hate from fans than he probably deserves. Even though Georgia has had a good offense under him, any chance fans get to ridicule him they take full advantage of.

But after Georgia basketball’s stunning NCAA Tournament loss Thursday night it might be time for fans to take their anger out on Mike White who may deserve it more.

Mike White deserves the same ridicule Georgia fans give Mike Bobo

Georgia entered the NCAA Tournament Thursday night against Saint Louis riding high. They just set a program record for regular season wins and qualified for the Big Dance for the second year in a row, so things seemed to be trending in the right direction under White.

But then the game started and Georgia had their worst performance of the season. Basketball can be a fluky sport as shots sometimes just don’t fall, but Thursday night was anything but a fluke.

Saint Louis led by 17 at halftime then opened the second half a on an 18-0 run. But what was more troubling was the lack of effort from the entire team from the moment the game began as well as the lack of urgency from White and the coaching staff.

Bobo isn’t a perfect football coach, but he has proven that he knows how to win. Sure the argument can be made that White is a winner too, but his winning ends when the regular season ends. He has not shown the ability to have his team ready come March when the lights shine brightest, and that is something he deserves to be ridiculed for.

White hasn’t reached the level where his job is in danger, but if things don’t get better over the next few years then it migjt be time to have some tough conversations.
