Can you believe that it's been one month since Georgia clinched their spot in the College World Series for the first time in 18 years? It's hard to imagine that it's already been that long because it feels like just yesterday Athens was partying like it was 2008.

In case you forgot, Georgia swept SEC rival Mississippi State in their Super Regional to clinch their spot at the CWS this season. At the time Mississippi State fans had countless excuses to explain these defeats, but many fans just wrote it off as reasonable frustrations after seeing their season come to an end.

But fast forward one whole month and Mississippi State fans are still claiming that Georgia cheated during their Super Regional showdown last month.

Mississippi State fans are still making excuses one month later

Making excuses after losing is one of the lamest things to do in sports. However, if those excuses are made immediately after the game then dropped in the following days then it really isn't that big of a deal.

But can you imagine claiming the team that knocked you out of the NCAA Tournament was cheating over a month later? It'd be one thing if Georgia was actually wrapped up in a cheating scandal right now, but there has been zero proof or any real accusations of anything nefarious going on.

These fans howeve are claiming that Georgia's hitters had devices in their arm bands that would alert them when certain pitches were coming. Is something like this possible? Absolutely, the Houston Astros did something similar not that long ago in the MLB. But was Georgia doing this? No chance.

These Mississippi State fans just can't handle the fact that a program in Georgia, who had been relatively nonexistent on the national stage for nearly two decades, swept them in the NCAA Tournament. So instead of accepting defeat they are passing off the blame in any way they can come up with.

Georgia is a program that isn't going anywhere

Unfortunately for these Mississippi State fans, Georgia is a program that isn't going anywhere.

Georgia lost a lot of talent this offseason which was seen this weekend in the MLB Draft when they had a record 13 players selected. But they already have ample reinforcements coming in as they have one of the top Transfer Portal classes in the country coming to Athens this offseason.

On top of that, Wes Johnson has already proven twice now that he can win at the highest level at Georgia. He has only been in Athens for three years, but in two of those seasons he made the Super Regional with this past season ending with a trip to Omaha.

Georgia is going to be a problem for as long as Johnson is their head coach, and it doesn't look like he wants to go anywhere anytime soon. So Georgia fans should get ready to support a really successful baseball program for many years, and fans across the SEC should be very nervous about what's heading their way.
