Nate Frazier is back for his third season at Georgia. He will be Georgia’s starting running back for the second year in a row, and if he has another great season he could be off to the NFL next year.
Frazier understands that the NFL could be calling next year, but he isn’t going to worry about that. He recently spoke about what is important to him, and it has nothing to do with focusing on the NFL.
"I want to lead by example," Frazier said via 247sports.com. “I know as a year three, for a dude that is more so knowing he has a chance and opportunity to go to the National Football League, it gets to a point where they're more so selfish and focus on themself and their goals. But my year three, I want to show my teammates and the people around me that I want to be better together as a team.”
Nate Frazier is ready to take on a leadership role at Georgia
Frazier could’ve left the offseason for a different situation that would have given him more touches during the season. That is why rumors circulated after the season that he was thinking about entering the Transfer Portal.
But instead he returned to form one of the best running back duos in the country with Chauncey Bowens. He also wants to come back to help out all of the younger running backs lower on the depth chart improve as well.
Frazier is ready to be a leader. He is ready to carry on the legacy of Georgia football that has existed since the moment Kirby Smart took over as head coach. And instead of chasing stats this season, he is ready to be the best version of himself both on and off the field.
If he can do that then the NFL will probably be even more interested in him than if he went somewhere else just to record a few more stats.
