The best player on Georgia's offense this season might not be Gunner Stockton. That may cause some fans to get nervous, but they shouldn't be because that's just how good Nate Frazier is.
Frazier is entering year three in Athens which very well could be his last, but fans are excited to see what he can bring to the table now that he is undeniably the lead back for Georgia. Fans believe that Frazier can be the No. 1 running back in the country this season, but outsiders aren't as confident. They do however still think Frazier will be one of the top backs in the country.
PFF recently released their running back rankings entering the 2026 season and they named Frazier the No. 7 back in the country. That's very solid, but Frazier made it known that he believes he should be ranked higher and that he will prove that this season.

Nate Frazier's new role is one that PFF can't grade
PFF can grade a player on a lot of things. All of it surrounds play on the field, but they can't account for what a player brings off the field.
That is where Frazier might be at his best this season because he has every intention of growing into a leadership role this year.
Stockton will undoubtedly be the No. 1 leader for Georgia's offense this season, but he is someone who tends to lead by example. Someone has to step up and motivate the offense with their words, and that is what Frazier can bring to the table.
Frazier will certainly be able to lead by example still, but holding his teammates accountable each and every day will be the best form of leadership he can bring to the team this season.
Georgia doesn't need Nate Frazier to be the best running back in the country
While it would be nice if Frazier became the best running back in the country, Georgia doesn't need him to be. The biggest reason why is because of the stable of very good running backs behind him.
This includes Chauncey Bowens who is back for his third season as well who could be the starter at many other schools across the SEC. But he chose to stay put at Georgia to create one of the best running back duos in the country.
Georgia's passing attack has a chance to be much improved this season as well. They will have to get used to a brand new core of receivers, but if Stockton takes a step in the right direction that shouldn't be a problem.
Fans should be a little cautious with Frazier because he did suffer an injury during G-Day that was the exact same injury he suffered against Ole Miss in the College Football Playoff. But if he is 100 percent healthy by the time the season begins this year could be a special one for Frazier and Georgia's entire backfield.
