The No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2028 recruiting class is Antijuan Wilkes Jr. He is from the state of Michigan, but he recently shared that Georgia is one of six schools that has really been standing out to him in his recruitment.
It is going to be extremely difficult for Kirby Smart to convince Wilkes to play for Georgia, but as of now they have a chance to bring him to Athens. It may seem a bit unlikely, but Georgia has one thing on their side that no one else does that could convince Wilkes to help the Bulldogs accomplish an almost impossible feat.

Georgia could sign three No. 1 recruits in the 2028 recruiting class
Right now Georgia has just two players committed to their 2028 recruiting class. One of those players is Jayden Wade who is the No. 1 quarterback in the country.
It is already an impressive feat to have one No. 1 recruit in Georgia's recruiting class, but what if they had even more? What if Georgia could add Wilkes as well to give them two No. 1 recruits? That would be extremely impressive, but there's a chance for a third No. 1 recruit as well.
Kevin Hartsfield is the No. 1 running back in the 2028 class. He is from the state of Georgia as well, so he will be someone that Smart desperately wants. There isn't a lot known about his recruitment right now, but earlier this week he was spotted working out in Georgia gear.
That could mean nothing about his recruitment, but it could mean that Georgia is one of his top schools right now. Either way Georgia will have a chance to land Hartsfield just like they do with Wilkes, and if they can manage to add both players they would have three No. 1 recruits at their position committed to their 2028 recruiting class.
What would it mean for Georgia to add Antijuan Wilkes?
Wilkes commitment would be the next best thing for Georgia now that they have Wade in their recruiting class. Every quarterback needs a great offensive line protecting them, so who better to go and get to keep Wade safe than the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country?
He would also be someone that could come in and play for Georgia the second he steps foot on campus, so if Wade doesn't start as a true freshman Wilkes would be a great asset for whoever Georgia's starting quarterback is at the time.
Any recruitment of this magnitude is going to be hard for Georgia to win. That is especially the case with Wilkes based on the other schools he is interested in because some of them are known for throwing around a lot of NIL money and Smart will always be hesitant to do that.
But as it stands today Georgia has made a strong impression on him, and as long as Smart has a chance with a recruit he should never be doubted.
