Mike Bobo is all out of excuses. After failing to win a playoff game in his three years as Georgia's offensive coordinator it is time for him to make some changes and take the Bulldogs' offense to the next level.
Georgia fans have been begging for him to spice up the playbook. They feel like he is far too predictable and runs the same concepts over and over again. The national media shares this feeling too, so they are demanding that he changes his offense an start featuring the Bulldogs' tight ends more.
“I think it’s the best tight end room in college football,” ESPN’s Cole Cubelic said via dawgnation.com. “That’s another way to circumvent maybe not having these big boy X wide receivers that can go take over games. I think you’re gonna have multiple tight ends that can take over games at different points in time.”

It isn't a coincidence that Georgia won their two National Championships when they did. In 2021 and 2022 they were strong all across the field, but Brock Bowers was one of the biggest reasons why Georgia's offense was so good.
Since he left for the NFL Georgia hasn't utilized the tight end position as often as they should. Bobo's relied on their receivers and running backs to move the ball down the field, and that is why his offense feels too predictable.
Georgia won't have a tight end as good as Bowers, but they still have an embarrasing amount of talent at the position this year. So with so many questions surrounding Georgia's young wide receiver room it's time for Bobo to change his offense and use his tight ends more.
This could be the difference between falling short in the playoff or making a deep run, so it's time for Bobo to do what fans have been begging for years and become less predictable and feature Georgia's tight ends.
Kirby Smart isn't happy with how fans treat Mike Bobo
Earlier this offseaon Kirby Smart extended Mike Bobo through the 2028 season. Many fans were not happy by this decision, but Smart doesn't care what they think. In fact, he has gotten to the point where he is extremely frustrated at the fan base for how they treat Bobo.
Smart has a point because Georgia has won the SEC two of the three years since Bobo returned. They also went 12-0 in the regular season the one year they didn't win the conference. Overall Georgia has still been pretty good since he came back in 2023, but they haven't even sniffed playoff success since he came back.
Georgia fans will probably continue to dislike Bobo until he leads UGA to some amount of playoff success. They have the team to do it this year, but things could get awkward in Athens if they fall short again.
Smart has made it abundantly clear though that he doesn't care what anyone thinks, but for his sake he better hope Bobo's offense leads them deep into the playoff this year or fans could start disliking him.
