Just a terrible decision overall from Carter.

This is a moment that Jalen Carter is going to want to forget as soon as possible. On Thursday night, after helping the Eagles go on a Super Bowl run last season, the former Georgia football standout is making headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

To open the new season for Philly, with Lincoln Financial Field rocking, Carter was ejected from the Eagles vs. Cowboys showdown just six seconds into the action. Why? Because he was caught red-handed spitting on Dak Prescott.

There's just no reason for this kind of behavior from the youngster. When Adam Schefter posted the first clip of the sequence, people were livid. Now, though, a new angle of what happened has made its way online and it only makes things worse for Carter - the ref was standing right behind him and was in a perfect spot to catch him in the act and then eject him:

Georgia fans can't get behind Jalen Carter after embarrassing moment

Carter just had to know that he was never going to get away with this. The video above truly is unreal, as it indeed shows that the ref was quite literally right there to see everything. As soon as this went down, even Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth asked themselves if Carter spit on Dak, which he did.

From the moment the spitting incident happened, people have been calling for Carter to get suspended. Don't be surprised at all if Roger Goodell ends up having him miss 1-2 games to teach him a lesson and for it to serve as a reminder to everyone else in the league.

Coming out of Georgia, there were 'character concerns' surrounding Carter, especially after he was arrested for reckless driving and racing in 2023 leading up to the NFL Draft. He ended up getting taken No. 9 overall by the Eagles, but right now the fact that Carter and Philly won the Super Bowl last year is the last thing people are talking about. Nope, a lot of focus is on Carter disrespecting Prescott in the worst way possible.
